As part of PHOTODAYS, the Arcturus Gallery is honouring Hervé Gloaguen with a retrospective highlighting his role as a historical witness from the 1960s to the 2000s.
The common thread running through this exhibition is the human figure in motion against a backdrop of subtly crafted compositions, emphasised by the play of light and shadow. Hervé Gloaguen stands out for his mischievous gaze, which makes his photographs so delightful. He incorporates the power of colour alongside black and white in his shots.
Opening on Thursday 6 November from 6pm to 9pm in the presence of the artist.

Following the success of the exhibition of previously unseen works by Gottfried SALZMANN, one of the leading artists of the ARCTURUS Gallery, in the splendid dovecote of the Château de La Pellonnière (15th-19th century), during the Parcours Art et Patrimoine en Perche, we invite you to come and see these previously unseen watercolours in Paris!
Gottfried Salzmann’s path is that of an artist who has been able to create a dialogue between paper and the world, water and shades of colour, technique and poetry. At a time when we are rediscovering the virtues of authenticity, gesture and medium, his work, centred on watercolour, takes a central place in contemporary painting.
Let’s meet by appointment at 25 rue de Verneuil, 75007 Paris !

Alfons ALT revisits traditional photographic processes with a unique printmaking technique he calls “Altotype.” This photographic method is pigment-based rather than silver-based. He selects his subjects through the camera and then works on his prints as a chemist, engraver, or painter, using a variety of supports: canvas, paper, wood, porcelain, glass, copper, zinc…
His works are exhibited in various European galleries, especially in France and Germany, and have been acquired by numerous public and private collections.

Urban landscapes, cities, factories, highways that Alejandro Quincoces captures on canvas take a moment away from everyday reality and the relentless flow of time.
The layering of textures and effects highlights subtle vibrations. It is a mature, powerful work that plays on the tension between abstraction and representational painting. He has received multiple awards, and his works are in many collections.
So choose these vibrations whose perception changes daily and transforms your everyday life!

The Arcturus Gallery exhibited a collection of works by Alejandro QUINCOCES, as well as watercolours by Gottfried SALZMANN, who has been with the gallery since 2002. Combining artistic techniques from painting, sculpture and photography, the gallery honoured Hervé ABBADIE, Franck DUMINIL, Regina GIMENEZ, Hervé GLOAGUEN, Vera MERCER, Gabriel SCHMITZ, Alfons ALT, Hélène de SAINT LAGER and many others. A new exhibition has showcased the works of Lidia MASLLORENS, Miguel MACAYA, Vera MERCER, Gabriel SCHMITZ, Marc RIBOUD, Marta MOREU, Tony SOULIE and others.
And in May, the gallery celebrated its 25th anniversary! A new era is dawning.

In his studio, figures come to life with both body and soul, characters who are exotic in their appearance yet close and contemporary through the expressiveness of the emotions that give them form. His silent faces subtly speak to us about the search for the truth of being.
Gabriel Schmitz is one of the gallery’s earliest artists. I immediately felt a strong connection with him, no doubt because he speaks to us about humanity and our emotions with a precise and swift gesture that makes the painting resonate and brings the canvas to life.

In this second exhibition, her Brazilian roots resurface, the lush beauty of the jungle, the abundance of shapes and colors.
She organizes this exotic vegetation within a framework of branches, as if to civilize it, evoking the long history of natural history museums and cabinets of curiosities.

Through the superposition of firm layers on wood, he seeks to capture the vibrant light of his environment. It is a mature, strong work, where the effects of material and light create subtle vibrations; the artist plays on the tension between abstraction and figurative painting.
This exhibition is that of a contemporary painter whose personality exudes a true inner strength which gives him an air of simplicity and serene solidity, and whose work manages to transform a fleeting moment into an eternal moment.
