Let’s hold onto the energy, the beauty of blue, and the curiosity of vacation to discover or rediscover the gallery’s artists and especially their recent works! We’d like to highlight three artists:
Gabriel Schmitz plays with the lightness of wash paintings and the subtlety of oil paint’s nuances, creating a sense of suspended calm, almost meditative. Through dance or movement, he invites us to contemplate the body in motion.
Tim Hall draws inspiration from the paintings of William Turner (“Turner Sky,” 2006) and Mark Rothko’s shifting striped surfaces (“Dune XIV,” 2004). By playing with light and shadow and using rounded forms interspersed with lines, Tim Hall highlights textures and emphasizes the power of natural elements.
Not to mention this stunning recent painting by Miguel Macaya on the cover, with its sky illuminating an imaginary scene that reverses the proportions between humans and fruit.
